Double inlet forward curved centrifugal fans

Double inlet centrifugal fans are a perfect solution when a concentrated air blowing stream and high static pressure, and relatively large amounts of pumped air are needed.

Advantages

We recommend using double inlet centrifugal fans as the optimal solution for projects that require moderate airflow combined with high static pressure.

Directed airflow

The scroll casing helps control the direction of airflow and changes dynamic pressure into static pressure.

Low noise level

The impeller with forward curved blades produces the same pressure as the impeller with backward curved blades but works at a lower speed. This makes these fans relatively quiet, and the emitted frequencies are less annoying to the environment.

Constant flow option

No matter how resistance changes, e.g., filter dirtiness, the fan will keep the same airflow.  Check how constant flow works here.

EC motors :
The future of ecology

Double inlet centrifugal fans can be equipped with various motors, including AC, EC, and DC, allowing them to adapt to different power supplies. The EC motor stands out as the most economical and efficient option among these. This electronically commutated brushless motor (EC) offers excellent performance, high efficiency, and easy regulation, leading to significant long-term savings. The EC motor is known for its reliable, quiet operation and meets modern ecological standards. Double inlet centrifugal fans with EC motors are great for devices with high static resistance and high airflow rates.

Technology

  • Forward curved blades

Double inlet fans are also known as forward curved centrifugal fans.

In a centrifugal fan, the impeller’s rotation axis is perpendicular to the direction of the blowing airflow.

A forward curved impeller is characterized by more shallow blades inclined in the direction of rotation. It can have one air inlet (single inlet) or inlets on both sides (double inlet). A forward curved impeller generates the same pressure as a backward curved impeller but runs at a lower speed. This makes these fans relatively quiet. A forward curved impeller usually provides a more compact design but requires a spiral casing to generate static pressure additionally.

Application

  • Air purifiers
  • Air curtains
  • Heat recovery units
  • Refrigeration condensers
  • Hoods

Forward curved double fans are best for situations that need an increased airflow with relatively high installation resistance. These fans work with matching drives and controls to provide the best airflow for ventilation, cooling, or heating installations. They are suitable for heat recovery units, air purifiers, hoods, and air curtains.
